Maintenance Officer

We are looking for a Maintenance Officer to work in a day special school located in Maidenhead, Berkshire.The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for general maintenance and cleaning duties to ensure that school buildings and the school site are maintained to a high standard and are secure.TasksCleaning (including human waste)Basic plumbingPainting and decoratingGrounds maintenanceEscorting contractors on-sitePool maintenance (training will be provided)Minibus maintenanceRequirementsMust-Haves:Experience in a similar rolePlumbing and carpentry skillsAdvanced DIY/maintenance skillsAbility to coordinate and prioritize worksAbility to supervise the work of others and maintain high work standardsAbility to communicate effectively at all levels and maintain excellent working relationshipsAbility to demonstrate a "can do" approachCommitment to continuing training/development of knowledge and skillsMust be available for out-of-hours emergencies and call-outsMust be flexible regarding working hoursAn understanding and experience of implementing health and safety legislation and requirementsAn understanding of the potential facilities needs of a SchoolExperience of swimming pool maintenance and chemicalsCOSHH certificateWithin a 30-minute commute of the School
