Maintenance Manager

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to join an innovative, award-nominated, global manufacturing business based in Newton Aycliffe. The Maintenance Manager will receive a salary of £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience, along with 25 days annual leave + bank holidays. Main duties and Responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager:
Lead and develop multi-disciplined shift Technicians and Apprentices through objective setting. Support their progression through the maintenance tiers, in line with the core values and business needs. Develop training plans and facilitate training and secondments to close knowledge gaps.
Manage the maintenance and repair of equipment, all facilities systems, and all general building maintenance and renovation.
Lead the review of maintenance procedures for existing and new equipment. Identify gaps and facilitate their closure working closely with other teams/departments.
Develop planned downtime plans for equipment with the aim to decrease downtime due to breakdowns.
Ensure the spares and critical spares are stock checked, booked out, and ordered as needed.
Ensure and review the completion of root cause investigations, using the company equipment asset management system (eMaint).
Ensure compliance inspections are completed and associated actions achieved.
Contribute to ISO audit activities as required.
Organise supplier/contractor visits to complete service and inspections required, in collaboration with purchasing, production, engineering, and BD.
Oversee, obtain quotes, and manage relationships with external contractors and vendors.
Review and update the equipment RPN, in line with the company VSM.
Support high-level projects implemented across the business, such as installation of new machinery - including services and establishment of PM's.
Essential requirements of the Maintenance Manager:
Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing/production environment in a maintenance and engineering role.
Strong set of engineering skills in multi-skilled maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and design.
Working knowledge of relevant legislation - Health and Safety at Work Act, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations & CE Marking.
Experience on Electrical machine control fault finding and PLC fault finding experience.
Understanding of budgets, RPN, VSM, and Capex.
Ability to understand complex drawings and process flows / P&ID's.
Working knowledge of process engineering, 8D, engineering change control, fault trees development.
Knowledge of PM / TPM / RCA / Lean Manufacturing Practices.
Experience with managing and developing a team of technicians over a 24/7 4 shift pattern.
Experience of working within an IS09001 QMS.
Desirable requirements of the Maintenance Manager:
Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Engineering Field.
Multi-skilled.
Time served apprenticeship.
IEE 18th Edition Certificate.
Robotics and automation experience.
Cleanroom experience of high vacuum tools.
Electrical Duty Holder position.
