Job Summary:



We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of their facility and equipment. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will be crucial in identifying and resolving any issues that may arise. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently.



Job description:



You are an experienced Skilled Fitter used to work within fast paced environment. You will be working with an established engineering team and will have a high level of autonomy and technical challenges. You will be provided with a training program to develop your technical skills and will be responsible for ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to an extremely high standard.



As the ideal candidate, you will have previously worked within a fast-paced production environment and possess the following skills and experience:




  • Must be a skilled maintenance fitter (mechanical)

  • Track record of fault finding & ideally knowledge of PLC's

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance

  • Worked on processing and manufacturing machinery

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices & continuous improvement mentality

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment

  • You will ideally hold a recognised Time served Apprenticeship, supported by Engineering qualifications such as NVQ3/HNC or City & Guilds



You will also require a flexible approach to your working hours to support the needs of the business.



Role/Responsibilities




  • Repair, service and maintenance of all plant machinery and other equipment.

  • Ensure accurate records of servicing and repairs.

  • Assisting and responding to all site breakdowns whilst identifying any faults and repairing on site.

  • Carry out mechanical preventive maintenance.

  • Fault location / diagnosis /repair.

  • Will be expected to participate in the site Emergency Response team.

  • Will be expected to participate in various improvement initiatives.

  • Removal/Assembly and fitting of various type of bearings and gear boxes.

  • Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements.
