Role: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Newport

Salary: £42,500 - £44,000

Shift: Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Works Engineer to join an established engineering company based in Newport.

This market leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation.

Salary / package:


  • Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%

Main responsibilities:


  • Communicate with the site manager about projects, problems, health and safety, budgets, etc.
  • Manage the engineering function for their site
  • Carry out all planned & predictive maintenance tasks on time & accurately
  • Repair and Maintain all equipment on site (if unable to liaise with the Area Engineering Manager and Site Manager)
  • Provide a monthly written report to the Area Engineering Manager for your site
  • Liaise with the Area Engineering Manager on projects, budgets, significant problems, PPM & Health & Safety
  • Control Engineering Budget for said sites
  • Control Engineering Permit Systems
  • Control Planned Maintenance Systems
  • Ensure engineering complies with Health & Safety procedures
  • Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work method statements
  • Ensure the site complies with Computerised Maintenance Management System

Qualifications, experience and skills:


  • HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering preferred.
  • Multi skilled engineering background
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Excellent communication skills
