We are working with an established plastic product manufacturer based in Huddersfield. They are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a in return for a salary in the region of £40,000 - £45,000 along with overtime and additional training and development opportunities that will lead to a Supervisory opportunity within the team.

The Maintenance Engineer needs to possess a strong hands-on background in mechanical and electrical skills directly related to operating in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Requires considerable working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic knowledge combined with some basic electrical maintenance, ideally from a plastics background or similar.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Following planned, preventative maintenance schedules

* Reacting quickly to machinery breakdowns

* Reading engineering drawings and schematics

* Mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair

* Basic electrical maintenance

* PLC fault finding

* Working with other departments to ensure production continues running

* Recording all work carried out

Qualifications & Experience required:

* City and Guilds / Level 2 or 3 qualification in Engineering

* Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship
