Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading food & drink manufacturer in East Lothian as they wish to add to their engineering department and hire a Maintenance Electrician.

Responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for ensuring the required levels of production are achieved by maintaining plant and equipment to the required standards and dealing with breakdowns effectively and efficiently.
On Offer:
£43, 948
Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, 40 hours per week
On Call Rota Requirement, One week in three

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer:
To carry out planned and non-routine maintenance, including breakdown, utilising appropriate testing regimes.
Liaise with management to report any obvious maintenance anomalies and to be familiar with the latest instructions and procedures.
Recommend alterations and improvements for enhanced operation.
Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant.
Provide assistance and work flexibly (with due regard to competence, capability and knowledge) with site staff and tradesmen.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within and around the engineering workshop and plant control rooms.
Where required, deputise for maintenance supervisor
Undertake training and provide cover as per business requirements.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities & Experience
ESSENTIAL:
Recognised apprenticeship or Electrical trade qualification
Electrical Testing
Electrical fault finding
Electrical fault finding without wiring diagrams
Electrical installation & inspection
Working knowledge of PLC systems
Excellent problem-solving ability
Possess a mechanical aptitude
Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative or as part of a team
Have a can-do attitude
Quality awareness
DESIRABLE:
Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification
Recognised Welding and or Fabrication qualification
Institute of Electrical Engineers 18th Edition Regulations
Willing to learn/train in various areas relating to the position
Welding, MIG, TIG, Arc
Metal work and Fabrication
Practical experience in an industrial scale production environment
