Maintenance Electrician

My Client is offering an exciting full-time opportunity for a fully qualified Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team in Peterborough covering three secondary schools in the city. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Key activities:

• To deliver electrical PPM and reactive works across the Peterborough schools PFI contract


• To apply trade skills to undertake scheduled, planned and reactive maintenance tasks. This will include testing of wiring to fixed electrical installations, emergency lighting and portable appliances


• To immediately report and/or make safe any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations and escalate to line management


• To manage own monthly workload using PDA handheld device and be familiar with Maximo or similar asset management software system


• To ensure prompt and accurate completion of all associated paperwork


• Participation in a rolling callout rota

Skills, qualifications and experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role essential


• Must hold a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant Electrical discipline with suitable industry


• Testing & Inspection certificated 2391/2 City & Guild or equivalent
