Machinist

Elevation Recruitment Group's skilled shop floor team are currently recruiting the role of a manual machinist to work for a leading innovative building and infrastructure solutions business based near Barnsley. 
Salary: £35,500 
Working Hours: 40 hours a week with flexibility across the working week

The hours can be split either 4 x 10-hour days or 5 x 8 hour days
This Machinist will be responsible for:

• Machine reconditioned engineering parts: clean, polishing and refurbish.
• Bench fitting, operating a variety of manual machines.  
• Involvement with multi-site projects. 
• Maintaining H&S standards and adhering to legislation. 
• Carryout planned maintenance activities in line with the maintenance management system.

Requirements:

• You will be an experienced bench fitter or machinist.
• Skilled in the use of mechanical machining and or cleaning / polishing of equipment.
• Experienced using workshop equipment including manual lathe, manual miller, vertical borer and surface grinders.
• Able to read technical drawings.
• Knowledge of operations / practices. 
• Good working knowledge of health & safety procedures. 
• Can demonstrate attention to detail, with the ability to problem solve.
• Welding experience, highly desirable.
