Machine Operator

We are looking for an Laser Machine Operator to start a permanent position immediately in Crayford area.

Monday to Thursday: 07:30 am – 16:00 pm

Friday: 07:30 am – 14:00 pm

Hours: 38.5 hours per week

Experience: Previous experience as a laser cutter machine operator is essential.

Convenient Location: Only a 14-minute walk from the train station.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

1. 
   

   Control of Sheet Material:

   
   
   • Manage pallets of material at the beginning and end of each day.
   • Maintain an updated material register.
   • Mark all material with relevant information such as job numbers and certificate numbers.
   • Ensure proper storage and tidiness of all materials.
   
   
2. 
   

   Laser Maintenance:

   
   
   • Keep the machine clean and organized.
   • Change slates as needed.
   • Monitor gas levels and inform the foreman when replenishment is required.
   • Conduct routine checks as necessary.
   
   
3. 
   

   Programming of Laser:

   
   
   • Program parts using the latest issue drawings.
   • Optimize programming for efficient material usage while maintaining proper profile orientation.
   • Obtain permission before making any alterations to drawing files.
   
   
4. 
   

   Inspection of Cut Parts:

   
   
   • Inspect the first part of each cut to ensure it meets tolerance requirements.
   • Perform routine inspections on large batches of cut components to ensure consistency.
   • Verify the correct quantities and quality of all cut parts.
   • Deburr cut parts when necessary.
