M&E Senior Design Engineer

O’Neill & Brennan have some exciting opportunities with an M&E Contractor in Birmingham. Our client has a super reputation with an all-round friendly approach.
We are looking to speak with Senior Design Engineers.
Duties
* Prepare Designs as appropriate and be able to carry out competent designs in accordance with standards and guidelines.
* Prepare drawings hand drawn or PDF markups to allow Revit / CAD engineers to produce the model / drawings for installation.
* Carry out calculations using the Design Portal
* Organise monthly catchup meetings with Contract Engineers assigned to their projects.
* Identify training requirements to continue professional development.
* Assist with Training of apprentices.
* Assist contracts team during project installations.
* Attend design meetings maintaining communication levels with all design team.
* Identify design risks whilst carrying out design and inform the design team.
* Carry out tasks complying with Company Management Policy and Quality Systems
* Carry out tasks in line Company Strategy
Knowledge
* Proven working experience as a Senior Design Engineer or Relevant Experience
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
* Good communication skills – written and verbal.
* Excellent telephone manner
* Numeracy skills
* CIBSE Membership
* Heat Network Consultant
* Low Carbon Consultant
* Residential Sprinkler Design Qualification
* Knowledge of the construction industry, particularly in the Mechanical and Electrical sector
Qualifications
* BTEC
Certificate in Building Services (Level 3)
* BTEC Higher
Certificate in Building Services (Level 4)
* 6 years in a Design focused role
