M&E Building Services Technician

Key duties
On call (1 in 6 weeks), including absences to cover holiday and sickness, as required.
Carry out routine planned preventative maintenance as required within critical and non-critical environments.
The closure of remedial and service requests
Work is carried out in accordance with current regulations and safety standards.
Monitor BMS for running equipment and responding to alarm conditions.
Investigate mechanical/electrical faults, identify root cause and corrective remedies.
Assist when and where required with installation work and small projects.
Provide support to other team members in accordance with experience and competencies.
General
To ensure documentation required for statutory, H&S and GxP standards are completed and filed.
Arrange contractor site inductions and enabling work to start safely.
Propose ideas/initiatives for continuous Improvement to streamline, increase efficiency or reduce cost.
Assessment of critical spares, reviewing supply and storage needs.
Positive contribution to the “team” effort and the raising of the standard.
To minimise energy consumption through effective control and use of plant and systems.
Produce feedback to supervisor as required.
Qualifications, Education and Language Requirements:
City & Guilds electrical qualification or equivalent (BS7671 & C&G 2391)
City & Guilds mechanical qualification or equivalent
Educated to ONC/HNC
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Experience Required:
Engineering experience in similar regulated environment
Good awareness of Health and Safety
Multi-Skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Experience on steam boilers – blowdowns and water treatment.
VSD’s, motor controls and relay logic
Domestic and low temperature hot water systems.
AHU’s, FCU’s, chilled water and compressed air systems
Working knowledge of “Permit to work” systems.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals.
Experience of CMMS and BMS systems.
