Editorial Specialist:
L.E.K. Consulting is looking for an Editorial Specialist to join our growing global marketing team! Reporting to L.E.K.’s Senior Director of Content Strategy, the Editorial Specialist will be an integral member of the global marketing department, supporting the development of a broad range of B2B thought leadership and marketing content with primary focus on projects from the firm’s European authors as well as production support across all regions. Critical to this role is the ability and versatility to oversee print and digital production and maintain quality control of long- and short-form content in a fast-paced, dynamic in-house publishing environment.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Senior Director/Content Strategy, sector marketing managers and authors on the production of a wide range of written content that covers various industries including but not limited to Life Sciences and Healthcare, Financial Services, Industrials, Travel, Transport & Logistics and Consumer & Retail.Play an integral role in producing thought leadership that includes white papers, articles, blog posts, infographics, PowerPoint slides, webpages, social media posts and email blastsOwn and manage end-to-end production of white papers and other thought leadership; responsibilities include:Managing multiple projects at a timeWorking with multiple outside designers on print and digital layoutMaking editorial recommendations that improve content quality and readabilityCollaborating with authors, marketing managers and designers to improve graphicsFacilitating proofreadingEnsuring all production deadlines are metBeing a highly valued last line of defense against errorsServe as an advocate for copy consistency, upholding the brand’s tone of voice and style guide through all contentCoordinate with the US-based Editorial Specialist to update and maintain in-house style guide and collaborate with the firm’s design manager to keep brand guidelines up to dateMaintain editorial pipeline for tracking projects and for use during weekly production meetingsConsistently communicate project progress to sector marketing managers and other internal stakeholders throughout the entire production lifecycleWork with senior consulting staff on industry awards submissionsWrite short articles, landing page and web copy, and other content as requestedProvide other general marketing program management support as requestedQualifications4+ years of professional work experience in content editing/production, preferably in a professional services or agency environment; experience in publishing industry a plusExceptional editing and proofreading skills, especially in thought leadership and digital formatsAbility to exercise sound editorial judgment and to advocate for changes where necessaryDemonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environmentAbility to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment, while also showing initiative to work independently and proactively contribute to department goalsAbility to interact professionally with colleagues of all levels within the firm; strong interpersonal communication skills are a mustAbility to work effectively and cooperatively with outside vendorsStrong attention to detail and a keen eye for consistency within and across different content piecesCritical thinker and creative problem solverProficiency with AP styleProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including the aptitude to format and improve charts in PowerPoint along with the ability and drive to learn new systems and/or softwareExperience using project management software (e.g., Wrike) a plusBachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related fields required
