The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating domestic or international logistics, facilitating efficient and cost-effective service delivery for our Business Units, and standardising logistics processes. They will ensure that logistics services are carried out in compliance with applicable international regulations, laws, and company standards.
Develop and implement standard logistics policy, procedures, and instructions for the Business Unit.
Develop and define logistics plans and select efficient logistics providers.
Interact with company-approved logistics providers to ensure all required documentation is issued as needed for customs clearance for international (import and export) and local shipments in accordance with the company guidelines and each country's applicable legislation and customs laws and regulations.
Track freight from pick-up to delivery locations, receive information about the availability of materials, goods, and products within the scope to be transported from the company's or other sites (suppliers, clients, other parties) via the company's internal logistics planning system).
Manage shipment tracking in the system to ensure visibility and accountability of assets and timely delivery. Follow up on goods receipt and OS&D reports from operations. Track temporary import requirements and logistics spending.
Take ownership of actively monitoring service providers' performance, flag/report/record non-compliances, source viable alternatives, and prepare comparative to seek approval for cost-effective freight charges and service providers.
Ensure each shipment is adequately insured and safeguarded in case of damage, misplacement, or theft during shipment through freight forwarders.
Ensure compliance with all international, local, state, and federal regulations related to transportation, import, and export.
Support supply chain functions as and when called upon by senior management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised institute or university, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the respective field, preferred in oilfield services (wireline/logging equipment), over 7 years of which should cover International logistics.
Strong knowledge of related operations support activities.
Good understanding of permanent and temporary import requirements for different regions with the relevant tax, customs, and penalty implications.
Should have the drive to implement continuous learning, improvising processes, and systems.
Certification for International Logistics in supply chain from a recognised institute is advantageous.
Experienced in warehouse operations, including unloading/loading goods and inventory management.
Proficient in manual handling and heavy lifting tasks.
Skilled in handling warehouse materials, preparing shipments, and loading goods.
Committed to promoting and practising safe working procedures.
Holds IMDG qualification for handling lithium batteries.
Capable of conducting equipment testing checks if required.
Knowledgeable in working on ERP systems.
Fluency in communication (written and oral) with internal and external stakeholders, with an ability to create and present reports.
