Logistics Hub Lead

Volunteering is a fantastic way to enhance your CV, meet new people, and learn lifesaving skills. District hubs play a key role in the delivery of operational activity within the regions. The Hub Lead
role is pivotal in providing ground level support to all St John People working and deploying from
the District hubs. As a committed support volunteer, you will often be the first point of contact for
hub related enquiries or concerns and will be instrumental in the smooth running of the
operations activities.
Working closely with the District Leaderships Teams, you will help to ensure our hubs remain
ready to support communities, which will ensure that our St John people are able to deploy to
deliver great patient care.
What you would be involved in? (responsibilities)
- Ensuring a welcoming environment for all St John People
- Acting as the ‘Single Point of Contact’ for the hub and responding to or signposting hub
specific actions/queries/requests.
- Working with the Regulatory Assurance Team to co-ordinate building and vehicle audits
- Attending the hub to provide coordination and support across the functions, particularly
where hub spaces are shared between multiple functions
- Disseminating local information to relevant parties and posting notices as requested.
In conjunction with the Fleet Officer, coordinating fleet readiness and minor defect reporting
in order to maximise potential output.
- Ensuring stocks of consumables and paperwork are available and ordered
- Assist in building positive working relationships between all hub functions
- Ensuring refreshments are available
- Co-ordinating with other areas/teams across the organisation including: Fleet, Logistics,
Events, Facilities/Building Custodians, Assurance, Health & Safety.
What you would be accountable for?
- Providing effective co-ordination for all hub related activities.
- Working with all functions in preparation for audits
- You will need to have the following (personal specification)
Required
- Good attention to detail and ability to foresee issues and problems, mitigating as they arise
- Able to manage and resolve conflicting priorities and stakeholder concerns.
- Methodical and analytical thinking skills with good forward planning
- IT and software literate in appropriate systems.
- Ability to attend meetings flexibly during the working week, evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work with a blended workforce of volunteers and employees
