The post holder will also Lead in the Neonatal high risk children follow up clinics. Development of care pathways for conditions such as cerebral palsy and transition medicals for children with complex needs. Supervision and training of staff and trainees in child developmental assessment / care planning for children with SEN/ to continue the newly establish St Giles feeding clinic for children with GOR and complex feeding problems.(b) Medical assessment of children who have been referred for safeguarding reasons especially child sexual abuse and child protection advice from social services.Should be able to provide medical examination and written reports in connection with statutory assessment of special educational needs (EHCP)The appointee will participate in the medical assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental problems / Autism Spectrum DisorderThere will be opportunities for developing special interests in a chosen clinical area.Taking an active part in clinical governance, appraisal and service developmentMain duties of the jobKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo provide community medical service and this includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.Responsible for covering colleagues’ periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.Responsible for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.Responsible for out-patient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as agreed by Croydon Health Services(TBC in attached Job Description)Working for our organisationWorking for your organisationCroydon Health Services NHS Trust provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon.These include:• Croydon University Hospital• Purley Hospital• The Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre in Thornton Heath• Community bases at Purley, Sanderstead, New Addington, Broad Green, Woodside• A minor injuries unit in New AddingtonThe Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust.
