Applications are invited to join our paediatric Dermatology unit. This has been running for almost 30 years, and is the largest and longest established in the UK, training multiple consultants in the UK and internationally. We currently have one vacancy for a Locum Consultant.
This post will be a key part of the Dermatology service and it is intended to cover the New NHS ichthyosis service and the growth in gene and topical therapies.
This role will provide ward cover of the ambulatory ward, . Education – teaching programme once a month – journal club,. Ulcerated IH clinic and reduce the laser patients waiting list.
This role is pivotal as it supports EB, our laser service and general dermatology. It enables us to continue the laser service. The role supports our strategy to continue to grow the EB and laser service at GOSH and enable us to meet our national obligations as one of the largest services in the country. There will be loss 120-day cases per year if we do not fill this post. Main duties of the job Successful candidates will have experience with children or adolescents with complex presentations in paediatric dermatology, particularly EB and lasers. Clinical work will be divided between outpatient clinic, reviewing inpatients on the ward and referral triage. Additional clinical roles include attendance at the several multidisciplinary meetings and recruitment into clinical trials for EB. They will be involved in the development of the new ichthyosis service.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to junior staff and be a source of clinical expertise to the multi- disciplinary team.
