Job overviewFollowing new investment and service changes we have been able to create two new full time substantive consultant child and adolescent psychiatry posts in Bexley CAMHS. The service is moving towards the i-thrive model and the new posts are based in the Getting More Help (GMH) and Getting Risk Support (GRS) quadrants. This is an exciting time to join Bexley CAMHS in a period of transformation and opportunity.We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic locum consultant psychiatrist to provide interim cover for the GRS post whilst it is substantively recruited to. The locum will grasp this exciting opportunity to help shape the service going forward. The locum will work alongside 2wte other psychiatrists in the GRS service.The GRS post includes what is currently the adolescent team. It incorporates the following:a needs led approach with episodic care with an emphasis on early interventionA true multidisciplinary team including psychologists, psychotherapists, family therapists, occupational therapists, art therapist, social workers, and nurses. Main duties of the jobTo work with all the disciplines in the quadrant to provide assessment, consultation, advice and support including clinical supervision.The post holder will work with internal and external agencies within the child’s network to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes for young people. He/she will provide psychiatric assessments and interventions and is expected to provide approximately 9 to 12 reviews, including one assessment per week - this will vary depending on the complexity of cases. For GRS, the caseload is around 30 as it will include more young people presenting in crisis and requiring intensive support.The post holder will be expected to participate in the OOH rota which is currently 1 in 15 and based off site, as well as the daily duty rota covering A&E however this is second on call with the tri-borough crisis team having their own psychiatry cover.Working for our organisationAt Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, we offer a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people living in South-East London and to people in prison across England.
