Linux System Administrator – Algorithmic Trading Platform
£60,000
Hyde Park, London.
Harrington Starr are kicking off the search for a talented Linux Systems Administrator for a financial vendor in London.
This role involves administering internal IT functions and supporting client production infrastructure across all key global data centers to ensure the security of all IT systems.
Responsibilities:
Address and resolve issues and outages promptly.
Ensure optimal system performance through continuous monitoring and maintenance.
Offer technical support and troubleshooting for computer systems, hardware, software, and network.
Install, configure, and oversee software applications and hardware (servers, routers, switch, firewall).
Enhance information protection by implementing and updating software/tools.
Investigate and respond to security breaches, monitoring the network for violations.
Establish and manage an internal wiki for technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
Collaborate in designing and implementing new IT systems and security standards, including DR/BCP plans.
Provide recommendations for security enhancements to management.

Requirements:
Experience as a Linux System Administrator or Network Administrator.
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically AWS.
Expertise in network technologies such as VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other languages.
