Our client operates multiple nursery settings in and around Leeds, seeking an enthusiastic nursery assistant with prior experience and a strong desire to grow. With well-equipped rooms catering to children aged 3 months to 5 years, you'll have access to diverse resources and activities to support the children under your care.

Responsibilities:

  • Design age-appropriate activities to nurture specific child development
  • Cultivate strong relationships with parents and caregivers, fulfilling key children responsibilities
  • Conduct observations during EYFS curriculum-based activities to track progress
  • Assist with children's hygiene routines and mealtimes
  • Ensure a secure and enjoyable environment with a focus on health and safety
  • Safeguard children and report welfare concerns promptly
  • Record daily diary entries and conduct end-of-day handover procedures with parents
  • Support training and professional growth of other staff members in the room

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one through Randstad
  • Prior experience working with children aged 0-5 is essential
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanour
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team
  • Thorough understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Dedication to children's development with an energetic, positive attitude
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Desired (but not essential):

  • Safeguarding training
  • Paediatric first aid training
  • Food and hygiene training
  • Health and safety training
