Lending Administration Team Leader

This is a fantastic opportunity for an exceptional individual to join a friendly and professional team as a Lending Administration Team Leader in Birmingham!
Commercial banking experience is a must!

Responsibilities


  • Manage a team of Lending Administration Officers, providing leadership, coaching and advice to fulfil lending applications and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • As part of the team, provide effective and efficient support to Relationship Managers, Commercial Banking Officers and customers in respect of all facilities in line with service level agreement standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the senior management team to provide updates on topics such as performance, risk or change proposals.
  • Induct and develop members of the Lending Administration Team to grow understanding and accredit competence.
  • Oversee Lending Administrator Officer accreditation and ongoing sampling of work to ensure a high quality of output is achieved for all aspects of work undertaken. 
  • Develop and review procedures for the Lending Administration Team focused on key areas of risk or complexity for which guidance will also improve customer and colleague experience. 
  • Identify and understand risks associated with the bank’s lending book.
  • Proactively manage the risk register for the team and raise risk events where appropriate.
  • Maintain timely and accurate customer records for all cases under management by the team. 
  • Assist ongoing and annual audit requirements associated with the banks lending book. 
  • Proactively identify process or system improvements which can sustain the proposed growth of the banks lending in line with the business strategy.

  • Process Expert: Experienced in creating, implementing, and reviewing robust processes and procedures.
  • Lending Know-How: In-depth knowledge of the commercial lending process is essential.
  • Security Savvy: Proficient in dealing with security matters, including taking, releasing, and understanding quirks.
  •  Document Dynamo: Familiarity with Bank Facility documentation is a must.
  • Stakeholder Maestro: Expertise in managing third-party stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Efficiency Driver: Proven experience in driving efficiencies to maximise operational capacity.
