Legislation & Certification Engineer role:
- Execute the UK IVA process to approve products in the UK, supporting Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure product compliance and approvals are consistently achieved.
- Represent the L&C team on assigned projects, ensuring L&C requirements are defined, communicated, understood, planned, and implemented supporting a seamless product introduction.
- Assist in the work with external agencies, including Technical Services, Type Approval Authorities, government bodies and engineering service providers.
- Investigate new areas of L&C knowledge and practice, communicating effectively within the function and wider business, and support interfaces with external agencies and services.
- Implement improvements in L&C working practices defined by the function.
- Maintain detailed, accurate and accessible L&C records and data.
- Provision support for CoP activity and audits, to assure continued compliance of products and processes for the business.
- Support EUWVTA project activity for EU market products, including regulation assessments and approvals for all GSR and GSRII, and CoP planning and assurance.
Legislation & Certification Engineer Requirements:
- Legislation and Certification experience in automotive, commercial vehicle or similar industry.
- Degree level education or equivalent experience in an engineering field, e.g. Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Product Development, Project Management
- Excellent communication skills to interact with all functions and levels of the business.
- Ability to lead projects and work independently.
- Experience of a range of vehicle technologies, e.g. electric vehicles, batteries, welded structures, axles, steering, suspension, cooling, HVAC, body and trim etc.
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment, producing complex machines or assemblies.
- Ability to generate and present technical and legislative material in a concise manner to suit the audience.
