Legal Secretary - Conveyancing

My client is searching for a Legal Secretary/Conveyancing Assistant to join their offices in Wallasey, Cheshire. 



This post is on a Full time basis working as a Conveyancing Secretary in a very busy long-established firm of Solicitors. 



This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of the firms Conveyancing team. The role is mainly of assisting a Licenced Conveyancer but assistance to other conveyancing fee earners may be required from time to time.



Duties to include but are not limited to:



• Providing quotations and taking instructions from clients and opening the matters on the Case Management System (LEAP)

• Request and drafting of legal documents including contracts, completion statements, property searches, SDLT and LTT returns and Land Registry applications

• Liaising with clients, estate agents, referrers, other parties solicitors and other parties involved in the Conveyancing process, maintaining clear and professional communication (both face-to-face and via telephone)

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations

• Setting up files for exchange and completion and dealing with post-completion

• Comply fully with CQS Protocol, Lexcel Protocol and the Office Manual

• Dealing with Lender Portals downloading mortgage offers, requesting redemption statements and keeping portal up to date

• General administration of files - printing of emails/documentation/ensuring checklists up to date and files are compliant

• Audio Typing/BigHand Dictation



Experience:



• Previous experience in a Conveyancing role is required

• Familiarity with Conveyancing terminology and processes

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook/LEAP Case Management System

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Proactive and good organisational skills

• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
