Locum Litigation Legal Officer – up to £18 per hour PAYE – Midlands – 3 months +Venn Group’s Specialist Public Sector Legal team are currently working with a well-known University based within the Midlands, who are seeking for a capable Locum Litigation Legal Officer to join their team.Position: Locum Litigation Legal OfficerOrganisation: Midlands based UniversityDuration: 3 - 6 months initial contract with the likelihood of extension thereafterWorking Pattern: Full time however candidates with part time availability possessing relevant experience will also be consideredWorking Arrangement: In person office attendance on occasionHourly Rate: £15-18 per hour PAYE (Pay as you earn)Skill level: Legal Assistant/Paralegal/Legal OfficerThis is a position ideally looking for those who have existing experience of working within the NHS or within a University who are able to handle a busy caseload of Clinical Negligence and Public/Employers Liability mattersDuties include:
To Manage and Coordinate a caseload of Litigation Claims (Clinical Negligence and Employer/public liability cases) in accordance with CPREnsure that Claims are managed according to relevant policies and procedures and issues of complexity or concern are appropriately escalated to the Senior Legal Officer/Head of Legal as appropriateTo ensure all parts of the investigation process for claims are managed in accordance with timescales and proceduresProvide all appropriate support and liaison with Clinical and operational staff involved with ClaimsAdvise on risk reduction and systems to ensure lesson are learnt following adverse incidents, HMC inquest and Claims
