POSITION OVERVIEW
The Legal Education and Development Coordinator will deal with legal training and development matters as part of the Legal Recruiting and Development team in order to provide an effective and efficient function for the Firm.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
(This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary and dependent on team workload)
Development and Training
Attorney engagement support i.e. liaising with firmwide and local colleagues/teams on spend requests and approvals
Tracking firmwide training programs and coordinating local attendance with London Knowledge Partners
Monitoring London, Paris and Brussels attorney bar certificate expirations, communicating with attorneys on providing renewals and updating spreadsheets
Tracking visa expiration dates, administration of required verifications and liaising with attorneys on renewals
Assisting with budget tracking and working with US team on reclassifications for London, Paris and Brussels
Processing attorney development onboarding and leaver checklists, tracking completion status and supporting attorneys with any queries
Work with US colleagues on Learning Management System (LMS) training programs
Supporting England & Wales license regulatory processes for international offices i.e. bulk renewal, continuing competence, drafting required applications i.e. SRA registrations
Support for arranging Practice Group trainings (attorneys and trainees) including booking rooms, issuing calendar invitations, updating reports
Issuing compliance courses to new attorneys and tracking completion
Administration support for associate review process for European offices
Providing London attorneys with reports on their training compliance (England & Wales, US, Brussels, France)
Checking CLE compliance team weekly and monthly training reports and making any required adjustments on the Firm’s tracking system
Updating weekly US report
LMS administration including and not limited to creating events, lessons, learning paths and applying training credits
Booking external courses and obtaining necessary approvals and maintaining budget spreadsheet
Assisting with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and events
Supporting Colleagues for Life initiatives, liaising with ambassadors and US colleagues on events
Processing invoices and department expenses
Assisting with administration of any mentoring scheme
Undertake any other tasks or responsibilities that reasonably fall within the remit of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Work Experience, Skills
Educated to degree level
Proven professional services experience in training and development ideally working in a law firm. An understanding of legal bar compliance is helpful
Excellent customer service orientation with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with attorneys and staff at all levels
Ability to think critically and pro-actively and problem solve and a “can-do” attitude
Ability to effectively prioritise and respond to multiple service requests, often while working under tight time constraints and juggling multiple workstreams
