The UK business has a strategic focus to become a tier 1 position in the UK power generation market. The UK team has the objective of achieving substantial further growth, through acquisitions and investment in construction of new build generation assets.Job DescriptionThe Legal Counsel will provide legal support across the business, but with a focus on:development and construction projects in the UK and Ireland;acquisition of suitable assets / development opportunities on the secondary market; andthe operation and optimisation of their existing fleet of assets.You will alsoadvise the project and execute teams on issues and transactions arising through the whole life cycle of renewable and conventional energy projects;advise on key construction, commercial, planning and finance agreements with local and international counter parties;provide legal, regulatory, procurement and commercial support to our fleet of operational gas and biomass assets;The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will have ties to the Leeds area and is likely to come from a Construction, Projects or Energy background either working In-house or in private practice. Given the structure of the legal team this role is likely to suit a mid to senior lawyer.
