Legal Counsel - Very high profile regeneration project (London)Wide ranging in-house focused on construction, procurement and commercial workAbout Our ClientOur client is the Private Delivery company for a major government regeneration scheme in central London.Job DescriptionSupport the General Counsel function in connection with the legal operating framework for the regeneration scheme.Provide legal advice in support of all aspects of the procurement process, including contract negotiations, for project/construction (standard form) contracts and contracts relating to corporate services.Provision of legal advice in support of contract management across the regeneration scheme.Provide a partnering approach to all functions, advising generally (or working with external legal advisers as appropriate) on legal matters relevant to the effective functioning of the organisation.Lead on aspects of legal compliance and provide support on corporate governance matters, including the validation and development of existing governance and compliance frameworks, for example FOI and data protection.Manage relationships with external legal advisers as required to ensure appropriate, timely and cost-effective support.Monitor changes in relevant legislation and identify impacts for the projectDevise and provide training and resources for the Delivery Authority on key legal and contractual matters to inform views on legal and commercial risk.The Successful ApplicantThe successful candidate will be a Solicitor admitted to practice in England & Wales.They will be likely to have at least 2 years of PQE and, demonstrable experience and expertise (appropriate to PQE) in the key activities outlined above, with an emphasis on public procurement, and project or construction contracts with an awareness of industry standard forms as well as:A track record of working in both the public and private sector, ideally in a project delivery environment.Knowledge and experience of infrastructure projects or major programme environment is highly desirable.What's on OfferFor further information about this exclusive instruction, please apply to this advert or, contact David Taylor of Michael Page Legal for a conversation in confidence.
