Is a public technology company.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Company's global team to deliver strategic, timely, and precise legal counsel on international privacy and data security matters, considering regulations and guidelines impacting the organization.
Assist in formulating, maintaining, and enforcing the Company's policies and procedures.
Ensure overall compliance with global privacy and data protection laws.
Provide advice on the legal and regulatory aspects of privacy disclosures, data collection, and related issues.
Analyze, draft, negotiate, and finalize various commercial contracts, such as master services agreements, SAAS agreements, licensing agreements, confidentiality, and data protection agreements.
Advise on general business law matters and oversee legal aspects of corporate, regulatory, and procurement issues.
Support the group's intellectual property strategy by offering legal guidance to protect the Company's innovations and brands globally, while minimizing legal exposure to intellectual property infringement claims.
Coordinate with external counsel and advisors when necessary.
Proactively identify privacy risks and collaborate with the business to assess and manage these risks both domestically and internationally.
Undertake other related duties as required or requested.
Requirements
Hold a J.D. or LL.B. degree and maintain active membership in the Law Society of England and Wales.
Accumulate 4-7 years of experience in private practice or an in-house corporate role, focusing on privacy law, preferably within a public technology or software-oriented company.
Translate intricate legal principles into practical and effective business solutions.
Possess in-depth knowledge of GDPR and other privacy laws.
Demonstrate expertise in negotiating and drafting complex Master Services Agreements (MSAs), including those involving technology services, SAAS agreements, data protection agreements, software licenses, and other licensing agreements.
Knowledge of intellectual property laws is considered an asset.
Manage large work volumes with a strong work ethic.
Take initiative, employing independent thinking and autonomy to identify potential issues and take preemptive action.
Showcase excellent computer skills, and possess outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with clients and colleagues remotely and across different time zones, displaying a passion for teamwork to achieve overarching goals.
