Job DescriptionLegal & Compliance AdvisorPosition: Permanent, full-timeSalary: Competitive + Bonus + BenefitsLocation: London, UKReporting to: Chief Legal & Compliance DirectorDirect Reports: N/AWFH: 3 Days office-basedThe RoleThis is a newly created appointment to support the legal and compliance function of a busy privately owned investment manager. The ideal candidate could be a Senior Paralegal or Legal Advisor with strong compliance experience who is interested in working in a broad dynamic role. This opportunity offers great exposure to working collaboratively in a small team to achieve business objectives. There is an attractive package on offer, beautiful high-spec offices within an established organisation.ResponsibilitiesAssist with drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, memorandums and agreements, liaising with various third parties and senior managementWork across all departments, ensuring compliance with applicable processes and regulations issued by regulatory bodies and best practicesWork with the Head of Legal & Compliance to ensure policies and procedures are updated in line with current legislation and best practiceDrafting Partnership AgreementsReorganising the corporate structure with the closing of entitiesResponsibility for Companies Act compliance, including Companies House filings as well as overseeing overseas statutory and regulatory compliance and filings as appropriateMaintaining company records including Statutory Books and RegistersSupport the maintenance of Personal Holdings data and filesAssist team in drafting and submitting regulatory filingsAssist with answering queries from all departmentsEssential Skills & ExperiencePrevious paralegal experience in an investment management firm ideally, or experience within a financial service or a law firm covering a wide variety of dutiesPrevious experience supporting compliance is essential for this roleCompany secretarial administration skills would be beneficial for this roleKnowledge and awareness of laws, regulations, and legal procedures within a small asset management firmDemonstrated skills in legal research and document draftingAccuracy and attention to detailOrganised and ability to work methodically to tight deadlinesExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenHigh level of discretion, understands the importance of confidential and sensitive informationSelf-motivated and able to use own initiativeAbility to work in a small team and get involved in a hands-on capacityOur ambition is simple – to do our best for our people, clients and communities.We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond - this starts with hiring the best talent without consideration of race, religion, colour, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status or disability.
