NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for aLegal Business Managerto join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are now looking for Legal Business Managers with experience in procurement law to join the team and help shape our long-term procurement strategies.
The successful candidates will have a knowledge of procurement law to advise on the form of procurements that will help design the procurement processes of the future and ensure NHS Supply Chain’s position as a world-class procurement organisation tackling the dual opportunities that the Procurement Act and Provider Selection Regime offer the NHS.
Every day you will …
Support the design and implementation of a commercial compliance framework that follows applicable legal rules and embeds best practices.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in line with the SCCL Board’s level of risk appetite, providing the standards on processes and controls.
Act as a subject matter expert on Public Contract Regulations, horizon scanning for the organisation, and ensuring that the category team operates to the highest standards.
Support the implementation of the new standard procurement documents.
Support the pragmatic development of effective and legally compliant category and sourcing strategies.
Represent the legal function at meetings of the Category Decision Forum and, where appropriate, the Category Management Forum to ensure that decisions taken are informed by an assessment of legal risk.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
At least 3 years of experience as a Legal Business Partner.,
Extensive experience of procurement law, ideally within a healthcare setting
A pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to engage with and involve a wide range of stakeholders and seniority across the whole of the supply chain.
A willingness to manage a case load without significant supervision and to respond to the demands of a fast moving organisation.
