Lecturer in Travel & Tourism



Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working in partnership with Newcastle College who are recruiting for a Lecturer in Travel & Tourism on a Permanent basis.



Salary:������������ ������Up to �39,310 per annum (Depending on Experience) �



Contract Type:�� ��Permanent



Location:������������� �Newcastle



Hours:����������������� ��Full time (can offer part time for suitable candidate)





Role Profile



This role will be to plan, teach and deliver vocational classes across the Travel and Tourism Programmes, supporting the wide range of qualifications on offer.



In addition to the role of Lecturer, additional responsibility for the following:




  • Promote outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across FE and work with teaching teams to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.

  • Support quality assurance for the curriculum area including assessment, internal and external quality assurance work.

  • Provide highly specialist industry skills and knowledge in specialised sectors and support the subject updating of lecturer teams.

Responsibilities:




  • Prepare and deliver teaching and learning activities and resources that provide learners with a high quality experience and result in effective outcomes for learners.

  • Develop effective assessment strategies that support learners to achieve their learning aims.

  • Provide effective assessment feedback that informs progress.

  • Contribute to College processes to monitor learner progress and performance.

  • Develop external links to provide a high quality learner experience with additional activities such as trips, visits, guest lecturers.

  • Contribute to the course administration of courses on which you deliver.

  • Contribute to course and curriculum development.

  • Participate in quality review processes.

  • Prepare for and participate in external quality inspections e.g. Ofsted / Higher Education Review.

  • Promote high industry standards to learners and employability skills inside and outside the classroom.

  • Contribute to the learner recruitment process for the College.

  • Contribute to course team meetings.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders as required.

  • Actively participate in learner recruitment, and contribute to planning and tracking of these processes.

  • Additional responsibilities aligned to 3 key areas as agreed with Curriculum leader.



Experience/Qualifications:




  • Vocational / Training Qualification in related curriculum subject or working towards.

  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification at a minimum Level 5 Qualified Teacher Status or willing to work towards.

  • Level 2 Maths and English

  • Broad portfolio of professional and personal development across Travel and Tourism.

  • Experience of working within the relevant field. (Travel and Tourism)

  • Experience of teaching/ training/mentoring or supporting learning in formal or informal situations.

  • Evidence of implementing effective and appropriate strategies for maintaining good classroom management and learner behaviour.
