For example, a member of our department was first appointed as a Lecturer in 2019. Within four years she was promoted to Associate Professor. She has developed new teaching at undergraduate level and won a prestigious Fellowship to open up new research avenues –– while also taking a period of maternity leave. She now leads a research team of 6 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.Ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide, we’re bold, progressive and keen to push the boundaries of what we’re teaching our students - and what we’re learning alongside them. It’s not essential that you have teaching experience, but you must have the confidence and presence to inspire students –through both group lecturing and one-to-one mentoring.
