We have the opportunity for an experienced Leasehold Finance Officer to join a team based in Hackney, on a full time temporary ongoing basis. The Leasehold Finance Officer will be a part of a team responsible for the collection of service charges, major works, production of invoices, and preparing Section 20B notices.
Requirements

• Previous experience within a similar role, within Finance/Service Charges

• Knowledge and experience of financial aspects of leasehold management
• Previous experience of preparation of service charge calculations, and annual property accounts
• Knowledge of accountancy principles relating to income and expenditure accounts
• Understanding of Section 20 consultation processes
• Experience of effectively dealing with queries and complaints from customers
• Knowledge of IT processes, including Word and Excel

Role Expectations

• Calculate annual and major works service charges to produce estimated, interim and actual invoices
• To collate all financial records pertaining to communal and structural expenditure in relation to property service charges and major works
• To calculate and issue Section 20B notice to protect the financial position of the landlord.
• To liaise with appropriate Council departments, sections, regulatory bodies, auditors and partners to encourage good practice and effective service charge accounting
• To provide appropriate background information and to perform necessary calculations for all service charge and major works enquiries, including Section 125 offer notice information
• To prepare and compile Leasehold Services monthly performance reports, distributing necessary information to appropriate parties throughout London Borough of Hackney
• To assist in special projects of the Leasehold Finance Team, as directed by the Leasehold Finance Team Leaders
• To attend any Neighbourhood or Estate Committee, or any similar meeting, as and when required
