Learning Support Assistant

Horizon Teachers are working with Primary School based in Croydon in their search for a Learning Support Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team. You will support a pupil within a mainstream class on a 1:1 and group basis, assisting in and outside of the classroom. You will also work closely with the Primary and SEN team to ensure the learning is adapted to best support specific pupils who need extra help.
What do the school expect from you?
Experience working in a Primary, SEND or Secondary setting.
An understanding of SEND within mainstream schools and how best to support pupils with challenging behaviour.
The ability to use your initiative, be responsive in the moment and work well within a team of support staff and teachers.
Enthusiasm, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environments.
Professionalism and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters.
Most importantly, a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs and a desire to build long-lasting, rewarding relationships.
