One of Welwyn Garden Cities leading Secondary Schools is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant following the Easter Break to join their team and provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This is a great opportunity regardless of experience and open to Graduates.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students on a one-to-one support basis including those with ADHD, autism and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate and work alongside excellent teachers to develop and implement individualised support programs.
  • Monitor and report on progression, providing feedback to teachers, parents and external agencies where applicable.
  • Support students in and out of the classroom, including during break times and lunchtimes.
  • Assist in the development of students social and emotional skills.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A valid DBS check.

This is a temporary to permanent position, with pay ranging from �80 to �115 per day depending on experience, start dates can be from May or sooner and the post is expected to last a minimum of 1 year and lead to a permanent appointment by the school.
