L&OD has a vital role to play in achieving our shared Kirklees outcomes and delivering on our People Strategy through supporting and developing great people with the right skills, values and behaviours.
The role
As L&OD Partner (Homes & Neighbourhoods) your role will be to work in close partnership with the service and wider Growth and Regeneration directorate on L&OD strategy and delivery; examples of projects in the service over the next 12 -18 months include the professionalism agenda in Housing, introduction of the new Housing Management system (CX) and responding to regulatory intervention.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience and a passion for people development able to demonstrate the appropriate knowledge, experience and ability to work effectively as a trusted business partner.
You will build strong relationships and provide strategic advice to support projects, priorities and organisational development for the Homes & Neighbourhoods service and wider directorate. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach.
This role is part of the corporate L&OD team within People Services but with a specific focus on and responsibility for working in partnership with the Homes & Neighbourhoods service. This service includes:
Assets and Development
Repairs and Maintenance
Partnerships
Housing Management
Service Development
In this role you will:
take the lead on ensuring a high-quality L&OD service and strategic advice/planning for Home & Neighbourhoods (and wider directorate).
engage with the directorate’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to understand directorate-specific needs, priorities, outcomes and challenges, and build effective relationships.
work closely with the equivalent HR Partner for the directorate to ensure collective understanding and a joined-up approach.
work collaboratively with individual services within the directorate to provide appropriate advice, support and challenge from a learning & organisational development perspective
work closely with all L&OD Partners and other colleagues within the service to ensure appropriate links and connections are being made with L&OD activity, priorities and approaches.
provide line management support as required for designated L&OD Officers.
