Job DescriptionLearning & Development Officer (perm/full time) REF: HSCP/82427Location: Princes St House, Port GlasgowHours: 37 hours per weekQuality & Learning is an innovative department within Inverclyde HSCP that works to support learners in addressing the learning and quality agenda at the HSCP.We are now looking to recruit a Learning & Development Officer to take forward this agenda, at a time at one of the busiest times in health and social care.If you were in the role today, some of the things you may be doing are –Design, commission, deliver and oversee learning programmes across the HSCP and to all staff grades.Participate in the running of the HSCP SVQ and Training Centres on a day-to-day basisParticipate in the design, delivery and evaluation of inter-professional and multi-agency learning programmes.Assess the competence of staff in health and social care against national standards. To quality assure the work of other assessors through undertaking internal verificationSupervise and develop the practice learning of students undertaking professional social work qualifications. To further provide a professional judgement on the practice competence of students within reports to internal and external bodies.Co-ordinate, develop and support practice learning across the HSCP.What you will bring to us –Applicants should be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.An enthusiastic approach is required with a clear commitment to providing positive learning for learners.Professional qualification in social work with at least 2 years post qualifying experience.Have worked within a social work, social care or NHS setting for a period of at least 5 years,Experience of designing and delivering training and supervising practice.SVQ Assessor and Internal verifier awards L&D 9D1 and L&D 11 or a willingness to undertake these awards.Professional Development Award in Practice Learning or a willingness to work towards this qualification.Current registration with a relevant professional bodyInverclyde Council offers a wide range of benefits to employees including flexible working opportunities, attractive pension schemes, a Buy and Bank Annual Leave Scheme, career development and health and wellbeing support.Please note that if you apply via this website it is important that you regularly check your emails following your application submission.
