Learning and Development ManagerFull time, permanentHybrid – 2 days London based office, 3 days WFHSalary: £40-50k DOE“Largest membership body and learned society for marine professionals across the globe”Our client, The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) is a Non-Governmental Organisation working within the global marine community to promote the scientific development of marine engineering, science, and technology. Spanning across 129 countries, they pride themselves on bringing together over 18,000 marine professionals worldwide and supporting them in their professional development. They are now seeking an ambitious and hard-working Learning and Development Manager to oversee the creation and development of the IMarEST Branded Career Pathways. You will be a key member of their organisation and play a crucial role in shaping the professional development and growth of the marine sector.Learning and Development Manager, the role:
Collaborating and communicating among members - leveraging their expertise Establishing working groups for Marine Engineers, Scientists, and Technologists and leading productive discussions and harnessing the collective intelligence Developing comprehensive career pathways for each profession (analyses of industry trends, skill gaps, and future requirements) Identifying opportunities for continuous learning and design initiatives
Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand organisational needs and objectives and integration of training programs
Managing L&D programs – evaluating and collaborating with training agencies for the development and delivery and enhancing the skills and capabilities of the marine sector Following industry best practices ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of training initiatives Learning and Development Manager, the person:
Proven experience in learning and development, with a focus on career pathway growth Familiarity with marine engineering, scientific, or technological industries and professions is highly desirable Profound Project Manager capable running multiple initiatives simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders Demonstrated ability to analyse industry trends and identify skill gaps Strategic thinker and proficient Leader with great attention to detail Comfortable in talking to members, industry, academia, governmental bodies, and other professional bodies
