The Client
Our client provides essential water and waste water services across a number of water frameworks in the UK. They operate in dynamic and ever-changing environments across the water and wastewater sector and currently have a permanent role available for a Project Manager. The company is focused on delivering cost effective sustainable leakage reduction through analysis and investigation of water usage and the promotion of leaks and/or identification and logging of usage to ensure the company meets its leakage performance commitment.
The Role
This role requires a highly experienced water industry/leak repair professional who can demonstrate superior levels of project management skills. The successful candidates need to be a self-starter and have the ability to use their experience and talents to capitalise on the scope available to grow the department exponentially both in terms of employees and services offered - for example, drainage, trade effluent, plumbing remedials and water efficiency equipment, currently sat elsewhere in the business.
The project manager will be a technical specialist and leader in their area, responsible for the delivery of work and maintenance of margin through subcontractor and quality management.
They must be motivated to achieve quality, on-time outcomes in line with our company ethos - putting our customers at the heart of decision making.
Key Responsibilities
The project manager’s main responsibilities are the preparation of quotations for our customers and the management of work concerning water leak repairs, new supplies and remedials to their private side water supply infrastructure. The work is based on obtaining quotes from our subcontract partners and can vary from small patch repairs to a customer’s water supply, through to a full relay, separation of shared water supplies, preparation of new connections including chlorination, internal remedials such as leaky toilets/tap repairs, installation of submeters and recommendations for futureproofing. These tasks fluctuate from emergency events to longer term multi event projects.
The project manager will have full autonomy in this role and will be expected to run projects in their entirety with the support of the wider business. Backed by a team of leak detection technicians and a suite of long-term subcontract partners the role works closely with internal stakeholders (such as account managers and service managers) and external stakeholders, to ensure swift quality delivery. Communication is a key skill in this role as well as technical ability and they must be comfortable managing their time and flagging where additional resource is required.

* Previous project management experience
* Previous experience of subcontractor management
* Strong IT skills
* Water industry knowledge (Leak detection / leak repair experience if possible)
* Experience of managing health and safety
