We are looking for an exceptional Lead Technical Architect to join our team. You will be responsible for leading and owning the Technical direction for Freetrade. The role offers autonomy in an extremely dynamic and complex environment.
Freetrade embraces Domain Driven Design, Event Driven and Microservices Architecture. Our Coding values include, TDD, Clean Code and the values and practices of XP, DevOps and Software Craftsmanship and a “you build it, you deploy it, you support it” mindset.You will be someone that enjoys working in a fast paced environment with a passion for tech and a desire to never be far from the code. You have worked in complex environments where you employed DDD, Event Driven Architecture and/or Microservices to solve the challenges you faced. Most importantly you will be someone that has empathy, humility and the ability to influence others to get their buy in.
You will...
Own and set the Technical direction for Freetrade.
Technically leading Software Engineers who will be assigned to multiple Engineering teams delivering best practice Engineering solutions.
Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and methodologies that will support the delivery to meet Freetrade’s business objectives.
Develop a holistic approach to Architectural practice and standards.
About you:
You have experience leading the technical direction in an architectural capacity for core domain or function of a business.
You will have worked with distributed architectures and cloud technologies and you are comfortable working with both front-end and back-end technologies.
You have supported applications in production and have the scars to show for it!
You are a champion of Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Design and Microservices Architecture.
You are an expert in modern software development practices such as TDD, CI/CD and have a DevSecOps mindset.
You will have a calm temperament and will be adept at earning trust with others.
You are effective at self-organising and you are able to evaluate and prioritise the most important thing to work on. You are also capable of making decisions with incomplete or imperfect information.
You have demonstrated ‘people leadership’ skill sets through mentoring, coaching or developing other individuals within an organisation.
You value simple solutions to complex problems.
You maintain a high bar for documentation standards, and recording architectural decisions.
You will have a good understanding of the importance of cognitive load within domains.
