This is an exciting opportunity to join a scientific research organisation as a Lead Software Developer. THE ROLE: You will predominately support the company+rsquo;s involvement in a project to develop a precision diagnostic tool to transform bowel cancer screening. This will involve: - Build bespoke computer programs and scripts to support digital pathology workflows, including: -- Automatic image quality control -- Image processing -- Data extraction and management -- 3rd party software integration - Build graphical user interfaces to enhance end user experience, such as: -- Extracting and summarising image analysis data -- Plotting data and carrying out statistical analysis on image analysis data - Develop automation processes to improve efficiencies within the company. - Support the implementation of Artificial Intelligence algorithms to improve the robustness of our image analysis pipelines. KEY SKILLS + EXPERIENCE: - Relevant engineering/science degree. - Prior commercial experience as full-stack software developer, including the use of: -- Python -- Docker -- Pytorch/Tensorflow -- General web development (React, Django) -- Software testing methodologies (e.g. unit, integration, end-to-end) -- REST API development - Image analysis: -- Familiarity with Computer Vision methods and algorithms -- Biological/histological image analysis and handling (OpenCV, Scikit-learn, Pillow, Openslide, TiffFile, BioFormats) - Understanding of the use, application and implementation of Artificial Intelligence software. DURATION + START DATE: This will be a fixed-term contract for 12 months, with a start date of May 2024. However, there may be an opportunity to extend this role based on funding availability. LOCATION: We operate a hybrid home/office working policy, with a minimum of 2 office-based days per week.
