Job DescriptionSenior Data Consultant (Lead Reporting Analyst)Salary: Circa £50,000We are looking for a Senior Data Consultant to join the Collections & Recoveries - Management Information Team on a permanent basis.Collections is a highly regulated function within Nationwide’s business that services customers in situations ranging from minor financial setbacks to severe hardship. We help customers find debt repayment solutions or provide them the needed breathing space to get back on their feet.As a senior consultant you will have responsibility for data solutions to load, prepare and publish data that supports the departments operational and portfolio reporting, while ensuring the data is complete, accurate and timely.Leading a team of Senior MI Analysts, you will deliver at pace using an Agile approach and will be responsible for overseeing reporting development, achieving delivery milestones, and communicating progress to stakeholders.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.This role requires you to travel into one of our offices 2 days a week to either Northampton, London or Scotland.If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingThe Management Information team supports the wider Support business area, which includes Specialist Customer Support and Collections & Recoveries, with regular operational, critical, and regulatory reporting, business intelligence (BI), and ad-hoc data analysis.The Senior Data Consultant is the team’s authority on reporting delivery, automation, and BI exploitation. They stay informed of current trends from across the society and externally, looking to optimise the development and dissemination of timely reporting in the department.Technology is always evolving, and you will be responsible for making sure that the team maintains levels of competence and acquire any new technical skills required for reporting and visualisation tools utilised to fulfil their roles. Where reporting is regulatory or critical in nature you will ensure that individual carrying out has the relevant expertise, and that sufficient controls are in place to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.If successful in your application, you will:• Liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that deliveries meet their needs.Line manage and coach a team of Senior MI AnalystsOrganise and carry out sprint planning, scrums and retrospectives and find iterative improvementsAct as a conduit for Society project demand and requirementsOversee the end-to-end analysis process, from data collection and cleaning to analysis and visualisationImplement best practices for data governance, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and securityDrive forward data-driven solutions to address business challengesEnsure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policiesIdentify skill gaps in the team and work with the analysts to agree personal development goalsWork with the Data Engineer on the team on database and data integration design activitySupport the growth of the Advanced Analytics capability on the team working closely with peers to realise long term strategic objectives.About youAs a minimum you’ll have:Strong communication and leadership skills and experience of influencing projects and engaging up to senior manager levelLine management experienceKnowledge and experience in Agile project management methodologyReporting and BI skills in tools such as SAS, Power BI and SQL serverA grounding in scheduling and automation technologyA background in a technical area such as code development, testing, deployment, automation or ETLAn understanding of data governance principles and their implementationData management experience, including the maintenance of metadata and relevant documentationIt would be beneficial to have:Experience in an arrears management businessOur Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
