Time and time again, this main contractor has demonstrated its commitment to delivering the high-quality service to their clients. They have an honest, open and transparent culture that is apparent on all their projects.

They are about to embark on a major residential scheme in the heart of an Essex town. They will require a Senior Quantity Surveyor to taken the commercial lead on this 500-unit development which will continue through until 2027.

Reporting to a Commercial Director, your responsibilities will include the following:

• Procurement of subcontractors, plant and materials and assisting in procuring consultants
• Management of a team of surveyors
• Agreement of the main form of contract and subcontracts
• Client and subcontract valuation and variation agreements
• Cost monitoring and forecasting, including monthly cost reports
• Final accounts for both client and subcontracts
• Commercial input into design issues and value engineering
• Input into design team and other pre-construction meetings

Your experience should ideally include the following:
• Main contracting experience as a principal surveyor and/or managing surveyor preferably in the residential sector
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the JCT Design and Build 2016 Contract and Sub-Contract forms
• Experienced in formulating and agreeing extension of time and loss and expense applications
