️ The role
We’re on the hunt for an exceptional Lead Product Manager (Payments) to join our talented product team. You’ll define, execute and evangelise Ramp’s payments strategy. You will have a fundamental role leading and owning the whole payments domain including global card acquiring, APMs, high-risk payments, fraud prevention and multi-PSP set-ups
In this pivotal role, you will lead the payments team while building and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will play a transformational role in supercharging the growth of Ramp, overseeing product strategy, execution, and alignment with the company's vision.
In practice, you’ll be responsible for things like:
Build and inspire a high-performance payments team
Define, execute and evangelise the company’s payments strategy
Transform the payments function into a strategic business differentiator
Engage with key stakeholders, executives, customers, and partners to gather feedback and build consensus on product direction and priorities
Work with the data science team to set up dashboards, trends, and analysis of payment data: acceptance rates, decline reasons, issuers etc. for informed decision-making
Work with the Head of Fraud to define a payments fraud strategy and identify opportunities to reduce fraud globally
Lead and own payments domain including global card acquiring, APMs, high-risk payments, fraud prevention and multi-PSP set-ups
Build a global payments stack
Own global payment acceptance, building new features, services & functionality that maximise user conversion while ensuring payment compliance
Manage card payment acceptance & relationship with acquirers, and card networks & and to optimise acceptance rates, reduce payment processing costs and fraud
Oversee the product development lifecycle within the payments team, ensuring timely and budget-conscious product delivery
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (commercial, engineering, design, marketing) and external partners (acquirers, issuers, PSPs, fintechs) to deliver a seamless payment experience.
You’ll come into an unusual combination of ambition, urgency, capital, warmth and belief - you’ll report to Albert, Head of Product, a champion for this role. You
From a hard skills perspective, the ideal candidate would have all or most of:
Payments Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience in the payments industry, especially within high-risk sectors like crypto, igaming, and marketplaces. Key competencies include:
Managing relationships with acquirers, issuers, card networks, and PSPs.
Overseeing card and APM acceptance, network tokens, multi-acquirer setups, and cross-border transactions.
Ensuring compliance with SCA and other regulatory standards.
Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and articulate a clear, compelling winning vision and product strategy for our Payments sector, seamlessly integrating it with our overall business goals.
Execution: Proven skills in project managing complex product lifecycles and delivering high-impact projects.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making, along with the capacity to solve complex problems by breaking them down into manageable actions. Must be adept at hypothesis testing, running experiments, and validating product ideas.
Management: desire and ability to lead and manage up to 3 direct reports effectively, creating a space where your team can do their very best work.

️ The interview process
The interview process is as follows:
Screening call: Initial call with our hiring partner for this role (Moises Garcia)
Hiring manager call: If successful at this stage, we will share with you two prompts/case study questions that will be the base of the onsite interview phase
Onsite interviews: Will consist of two 1-hour interviews to discuss the prompts/case study questions
Final interview with Ramp Network Chief Product Officer, covering product strategy, problem solving and open questions that
Reference calls
