About Us:
Join the London Borough of Barnet as a Lead Practitioner in our Social Care Direct Team. We're offering a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and guide our team in a non-caseholding capacity, focusing on the efficient handling and direction of referrals received via email. With our hybrid working arrangements, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working two days a week remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triaging emails received by Social Care Direct, providing insightful notes and guidance to workers on case direction and next steps.
  • Allocate emails to workers, ensuring prompt and effective distribution of workload.
  • Offer support and advice to workers regarding assigned emails, aiding in decision-making and case management.
  • Identify relevant processes and pathways such as reablement, telecare, OT, Care Act Assessment, safeguarding, and hospital discharge, and provide appropriate signposting.
  • Screen incoming emails to determine suitability for referral to Social Care Direct, maintaining a keen eye for detail and adherence to established protocols.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualifications in Social Work and registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in social care practice, with a focus on triaging and directing referrals.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently manage email correspondence and workload allocation.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of providing clear guidance and support to team members.
  • Proficiency in relevant processes and pathways within adult social care, including reablement, telecare, OT, Care Act Assessment, safeguarding, and hospital discharge.
  • Commitment to upholding the council's values of caring, learning to improve, inclusivity, and collaboration.
