Lead Practitioner and Medical Team Member

We are seeking to appoint at least one dedicated, caring, and innovative health care professional to our medical team and to fulfil our goal of becoming a sector-leading medical and wellbeing centre. We are looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner as well as a medical team member. This is an excellent opportunity for an exceptional individual to build upon the strong practice already in place in the medical centre. The medical centre provides care to approximately 1500 pupils and 450 staff. This is a term-time only role plus approximately 3-5 additional days, this includes some Saturday cover.The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), working alongside a number of other clinical staff including paramedics, nurses and physiotherapists. The post will be primarily term-time only. Ideally the Lead Practitioner would work 3 or 4 days including: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and the medical team member would work 1 or 2 days a week including Wednesday.Normal working pattern during term-time 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.The ideal candidate will:Be a registered health care professional, a Registered General Nurse, Paediatric Nurse, or Paramedic Be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills and working knowledge of spreadsheets and database systems (essential) Have evidence working independently (essential)Have experience line managing people (Lead Practitioner role essential)Have a BSc in Nursing, Paramedic Practice or Physiotherapy (essential)Primary care experience GP surgery/minor injuries centreHave minor injury and illness qualificationHave experience working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or similar qualificationBe highly competent dealing with medical emergencies and ensuring an A-E approachHave ALS qualification Have good knowledge of anatomy, physiology and musculoskeletal presentationsBe confident assessing sports injuriesHave knowledge of head injury assessment, specifically up to date concussion guidelinesBe confident with pitch side cover and willingness to be involved in school sportBe confident assessing mental health conditions and good knowledge of the underlying pathologies Have current Safeguarding children training to level 3 Have knowledge of child developmentHave the ability to teach and participate with PSHE programmesHave experience of working as a medical practitioner in the Independent SectorHave excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships with all staff Have a desire to play an active role within the life of the school and its communityBe a good team player and able to work collaboratively and offer flexibility Be empatheticBe kind and an excellent listenerEnjoy working with childrenBe well organised and able to prioritise tasks Be comfortable working in a busy, reactive environment and remain calm under pressure Have a personable and professional manner with a strong work ethicKing’s is one of the most successful schools in the world, with outstanding academic results, first-class pastoral care and a vibrant co-curriculum.Overlooking Wimbledon Common, the school is situated in one of the most attractive parts of south east England and benefits from exceptional grounds and facilities.If you are interested in this job opportunity, please visit our website to find out more and apply.Closing date: 9.00am on Thursday 16th May 2024.Interview date: w/c 20th May 2024.Interviews may be staged and we may chooseto appoint at any time during the applicationprocess.The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
