Pensions Solutions have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Payroll Specialist to join their Teachers Pensions Team.You will provide insight on payroll to guide clearance of unallocated accounts and development suggestion for the service and contributions return process. What you’ll be doing:
Provide training to the wider team on payroll fundamentals to improve the effectiveness of support and chaser calls with employers. Ensure all staff have the relevant knowledge to effectively chase employer for clearance of unallocated accounts. Provide Insight to the wider Employer Operation on Payroll processes and activities. Be the voice of Payroll when changes are proposed to process or systems. Take the lead on escalation calls with employers that relate to unallocated accounts clearance. Communicate with all areas of the business to solve customers’ issues. Build and maintain a general understanding of Scheme legislation, policy conditions, business rules and procedures. Be familiar with the contracted performance targets and quality standards to achieve these. To respond to all correspondence in a substantive manner within the agreed time limits.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience of working independently Significant experience and knowledge of Payroll and HR processes, ideally in local government Significant experience in accurate data input, checking and verifying in accordance with organisational regulations and payroll systems protocols. Up to date knowledge of payroll legislation – PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP etc. Up to date knowledge of Pension schemes and auto-enrolment (preferably Defined Benefit schemes) Demonstrable experience of operating the payroll process from start to end with an emphasis on compliance. Demonstrable experience of working with payroll systems and technologies Significant experience of providing advice and guidance to team colleagues.
