We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead GP at HMP Isle of Wight to join our team. HMP Isle of Wight’s present role is a category B male training prison. Located on a small island, HMP Isle of Wight is located 8 minutes from St Mary’s Hospital and 26 minutes away from Cowes Ferry Terminal.
Currently our core hours of operation are – 07:30 -17:30
This position is full time 40 hours a week and you’ll receive an annual salary up to £130,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

*What you'll be doing*
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
We recognise training and development is key, therefore we provide a training portal to facilitate your needs as well as have an in-depth induction for all staff whether you have experience of working in prisons or not. You will gain insight into Mental Health and Substance Misuse, as well as access to a variety of training opportunities with the opportunity to work towards your RCGP level 2 and other qualifications should you wish.

To be considered for this role, you need to:
* *GMC registration* certificate and inclusion on the *GP Performers List* with a valid CCT.
* *Experience* to confidently *manage acute and chronic presentations* for patients, with a proven ability to maintain and monitor high standards of care.
* Excellent *listening and communication* skills, with experience of *urgent care* assessment and good IT/keyboard skills.
* *Evidence* of *continuing professional development*
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
