MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Degree Qualified and Chartered Civil Engineer
Substantial experience in major assignments for a range of Clients in various construction market sectors
Substantial experience of managing projects, budgets and resources
Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake and lead assignments in the UK and overseas
Assist Market Sector Directors to source and develop business opportunities, producing tenders, and build client relationships
Assist and support the development and maintenance of a high level of technical capability to deliver the service offerings targeted
Deliver engineering solutions and report results to managers and clients
Monitor staff time and budgets against assignment programme and agree appropriate actions where necessary
Assist in the management of the design process that may include other related design disciplines/teams
Assist with coordinating design as part of an internal team and liaising with external associated professionals and our clients
Assisting with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager as required, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of 'Best Practice' and procedures
Assist Graduates through the processes and requirements for completion of their Chartership
Assist in providing appropriate resources for the successful delivery of assignments, maximising fee income
Adopt procedures for standardisation of work products and deliverables, and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery of the Company's technical work product
Implement and adhere to Company procedures in the management, delivery and administration of Services
Maintain strong relationships with other disciplines within the firm
Embrace organisational change and influence others to modify behaviour and attitudes as required
Have an understanding and awareness of the company values and business plan and your contribution to both
Observe and maintain Company Health & Safety Policy and Environment Policies across all activities
Undertake other reasonable duties as requested
KEY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Professionally qualified and Chartered Civil Engineer, ideally with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnically relevant subject
Substantial experience at Assignment Manager and Designer level with a proven capability and record of managing and delivering assignments to programme and budget
Able to manage the legal and contractual aspects of Engineering contracts
Strong knowledge of geotechnical and engineering geological processes and design, with a particular emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction and advanced numerical modelling
Detailed geotechnical design experience including deep and shallow foundations (vertical and lateral capacity, settlement), deep excavations, basements, retaining structures, earthworks, soil and rock slope engineering, ground improvement, seismicity and liquefaction and instrumentation and monitoring
Ground investigation experience including design, preparation of tender documents, supervision, interpretation
Geomorphologic, coastal and maritime experience would be beneficial
Understanding of the standard basic engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimating
Experience predominantly in large scale (c.£100m+), high profile infrastructure projects, for a range of Clients in various construction market sectors
Proven ability to build, maintain and develop relationships with clients
Proven track record of business development, delivering against set objectives and achieving company targets
People management experience e.g. general employee welfare, carrying our appraisals, training and development, involvement in resourcing and recruitment activities would be beneficial
Ability to identify and act on opportunities for growth on assignments

Able to communicate a clear direction and individual roles and understands the importance of learning from successes and failures
Business Acumen: Able to articulate the business strategy and how individuals contribute to delivering it in a meaningful way. Seeks opportunities across the business, not just in their area of expertise
IT SKILLS
Proficient user of 2D and 3D finite element analysis software (e.g. PLAXIS, Z-soil)
Proficient user of other geotechnical software (WALLAP, LPile, APile, Slide, gINT, or equivalents)
Excellent Microsoft Office Abilities
2-D and 3-D computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools
