As a result our people get to enjoy working on some of the most exciting projects in the world.Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Cost Controller (Project Controls Manager Grade) to join our busy and expanding, Bristol and South West based, Infrastructure-Defence team.We are undertaking a range of Controls & Performance duties on several high-profile Infrastructure Projects/Programmes. Additionally, this role will provide the opportunity to innovate, collaborate and learn from our experienced and award-winning Cost Control community and wider extensive Controls and Performance Network.There has never been a more exciting time to build your career with us in the Defence sector.Working alongside project delivery teams as part of a wider cost control team or independently with reach back support to experienced cost professionals, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:Leading teams of Cost Control professionals on complex projects or programmes.Driving continuous improvement in cost control (and interfacing project controls) processes to create efficiency and increasing benefits to our clients.Driving the implementation, embedding and roll-out of any identified changes to cost control processes.Appropriately selecting, implementing, administering, and maintaining cost control systems and procedures to track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.Lead development of project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS), align the time phasing of budgets against the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), to accurately track and control actual costs.Lead the integration of cost estimates to the Work Breakdown Structure, in order to set the project budget against the correct Work Packages, Planning Packages and Control Accounts.Provide subject matter advice and manage the development of reporting tracking tools, where required, and generate Cost reports on a regular basis, including evaluation of earned value.Defining how to build and assure project forecast to account for all residual works in the Estimate To Complete (ETC) and the development of the Estimate at Completion (EAC) incorporating required supply chain information.Present / provide performance recovery recommendations to relevant stakeholders and senior management to support effective decision making.Leading cost control activities to actively identify variance to the baseline and seeking efficiencies across client’s programmes.Undertaking line management activities including career development and performance management.Contribute to the national and regional risk communities including Community of Practice.QualificationsExperience in Cost Control on complex projects/programmes Practical experience of different cost performance reporting and cost forecasting techniquesPractical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting and performance reporting and analysisPractical experience of using MS Excel and other MS applications is essential.Experience of interfacing risk with other Project Controls disciplines (Scheduling, Risk Management, Change Control) is essential.Experience in leading small teamsAn understanding of how other aspects of Project Controls (Scheduling, Cost Control, Change Control) interact with Cost EngineeringThe ability to work in both delivery and transformation projects is desirable.Familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.In order to progress your application, it is essential that you are a sole British national passport holder, with current security clearance, or the ability to achieve this.This is purely due to client security requirements.Additional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
