We now have a permanent opportunity for a motivated and suitably qualified Lead C&I Engineer to join our team based in Pembroke Dock, in West Wales.
Role & Responsibilities:
Leading the C&I team with a focus on technical quality of deliverables and delivery of technical documents in accordance with schedule and budget.
Provide technical direction and inputs to the C&I team personnel.
Review and approve engineering documents such as calculations, specifications, philosophies, datasheets and drawings to ensure compliance with specification and functional integrity.
Perform safety related calculations and provide input to safety reviews - What If, Hazop, LOPA & SIL Assessment, etc.
Support preparation and carry-out review and approval of drawings including general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups.
Ensure all deliverables are aligned with company and client procedures and applicable standards; ensure documents are originated, checked and approved by suitably competent personnel.
Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors.
Lead on project technical decisions.
Co-ordinate C&I activities with other disciplines
Attend internal and external project review meetings.
Monitor changes in scope of work and raises change notification with Project Manager.
Input to project plans and schedules and cost estimates.
Identify the scope of work required to undertake a project and allocate the appropriate C&I resources.
Estimation of deliverables and hours required to deliver a project.
Skills & Qualifications:
Engineering degree or relevant industry experience
Chartered Engineer status or working towards.
Effective leadership skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
Experience supporting junior team members and apprentices.
Ability to interface and liaise with key client and internal stakeholders.
Significant, demonstrable experience in detailed design engineering.
Experience of developing, reviewing, and approving instrument deliverables such as general arrangements, cables routes, block diagrams, loops sheets, hook-ups.
Strong knowledge of PLC systems, specification, configuration, and commissioning (preferably Schenieder Triconex &/or Siemens S7).
Knowledge of DCS and SCADA systems.
Knowledge of industrial communication systems.
Ideally hold CompEx 12, with ATEX experience.
Functional safety experience and formal certification preferred.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant codes and standards.
Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
Exposure to mentoring of junior team members and apprentices.
